Lina Inverse History
Jun. 24th, 2018 01:39 pmLina was born in a village in Zephilia and is the second daughter of merchants. At a young age she set up a magical device that projected an image of her older sister taking a bath over the entire town. Lina has been afraid of her sister ever since.
When she was a bit older, she left home to attend a magic academy where she did very well and was awarded a color. In the world of Slayers, instead of getting a title, magic users of great power and importance are awarded a color. Lina keeps the fact that her true title is "Lina the Pink Sorceress".
After being awarded her color, Lina set out to travel around and became acquainted with Naga the Serpent, a busty sorceress with a rather large ego, matching that of Lina. Their friendship started after Naga constantly challenged Lina to fights and always lost. Lina and Naga traveled around together for a while, saving the world several times and leaving impressions on several villages. Eventually Lina and Naga part ways though and no one seems to inquire about Naga's absence.
Eventually Lina attacks the base of a bandit group, the Dragon Fangs, and takes care of most of them with several fireballs. She then starts to take their treasure. The next day, she finds herself being followed by survivors from the attack and they demand that she give back the treasure. The leader of the remaining Dragon Fangs then tries to persuade her to join them, but she denies them and they attack. Lina is then saved by Gourry Gabriev, who thinks he's saving a babe. Gourry thinks that Lina is a 'little girl' and needs to be taken care of. He decides to travel with her. They then travel to a village, where the elder asks them to take care of the Dragon Fangs, the two of them reveal that they had already taken care of the gang, but not the Black Dragon that they controlled.
The dragon eventually attacks the village, and after using a fireball, Lina decides to use her strongest spell, the Dragon Slave, which destroys the villiage along with the dragon. After running from the angry villagers, Lina and Gourry find themselves being hunted by the last remaing member of the Dragon Fang, Zolf, a magician wrapped up in bandages. He attacks with several trolls and and runs away, thinking a light spell is a fireball. Later that night, in a room at an inn, they meet a man named Zelgadis, who wishes to buy one of the items that they have. It turns out that Zolf is one of Zelgadiss' minions. She makes outragous prices for the items that he asks about, and leaves without buying anything and saying that the next morning they will be enemies.
The next morning, they are attacked by minions of Zelgadis. They were defeated rather easily and that night at the inn, they are attacked again, but the attack is stopped by Rezo, the Red Priest. Rezo then explains that Zelgadis wants to revive the Dark Lord Shabranigdo. He also explains that Zelgadis is part golem, demon and part human, which makes him evil. He offers to take the item that Zelgadis wants to save Lina some trouble, but she declines.
The next day, Lina and Gourry are attacked again, but something goes wrong. Lina has lost her powers and ends up being captured by Zelgadis and held captive. Zelgadis wants a statue that she stole from the Dragon Fangs, but she doesn't have it. She gave it to Gourry before they were seperated. She also placed a hiding spell on it, so they can't find it with magic. Later that night, Zelgadis frees Lina and they run, but are attacked by Noonsa, a fish man, who pulls Lina into a nearby lake. Zelgadis helps Lina and gets her out of the lake, but they run into Rezo, who reveals that he's Lina's real enemy, not Zelgadis. Without her powers, Lina can't fight, so she runs with Zelgadis. After several fights with some of Rezo's men, Zelgadis agrees to travel with Lina, who was going to Atlis City with Gourry.
Things change however, while in a ghost town, Lina and Zelgadis are attacked by more of Rezo's men as well as a true Monster. Lina, who finally has her powers back, tries to fight, but after realizing the one that she's fighting is a true monster, she runs and ends up running into Gourry. Not being the brightest thing around, Gourry attacks the monster, with the Sword of Light, the only thing that was able to cut the monster's body. After the fight, Rhodimus and Zolf join them in their fight to stop Rezo, who really wants to resurect the Dark Lord Shabranigdo, not Zelgadis.
As Lina and the others travel, they exchange information on Rezo. In one town, Lina runs into a young boy. Rezo, having found them, turns the boy into stone and threatens to do the same to the rest of the town as well as any other town they go to until they bring him the statue that Lina has, which holds the Philosopher's Stone, a magic amplifier. With no other choice, they follow Zelgadis to Rezo's tower. Afer arriving, Rezo casts a spell on Zelgadis in order to use him to help get the Philosopher's Stone from Lina. After obtaining it, he runs off to a special room, where he uses the stone to summon Shabranigdo, who had been sealed away.
However, the Dark Lord wasn't sealed within the room, he was sealed within Rezo's blind eyes. The Dark Lord is reborn again but he gives Lina and the others a chance to join him or die. With Zolf and Rodimus dead, killed while trying to stop the resurection, Lina, Gourry and Zelgadis leave. Instead of taking Shabranigdo's offer, Lina, Gourry and Zelgadis go to fight him, despite the fact that they know they don't have the power to stop him.
When all of their attacks seem to do nothing, Lina decides to use her strongest spell, the Giga Slave, calling on power from the Lord of Nightmares. Gourry gives Lina the Sword of Light and she uses it to power up her Giga Slave. It's enough to defeat Shabranigdo and it also causes Lina's hair to go white for a while. After the fight, Lina and Gourry part ways from Zelgadis and continue to travel to Atlis City.
As they travel, Lina and Gourry part ways as Lina tries to meet a real Prince. She ends up meeting Prince Philionel, who looks nothing like the prince that Lina was expecting. He asks Lina for her help in getting rid of a demon that had been attacking villages. She agrees to help and is dragged into a family feud between Prince Phil and his brother. Gourry shows up with Amelia, Phil's daughter and after the fight is over, they agree to go with them to Seyruun, where Lina can get her reward. On their way back to Seyruun, Lina uses the Dragon Slave spell and Amelia wants to learn how to use it. Lina reluctantly agrees to teach her. After a lot of exercies, Lina uses her Dragon Slave on a mountain, which causes evil spirits to attack a town. Amelia uses her powers to exorcise the spirits and learns why Lina didn't want to teach her the Dragon Slave.
After arriving in Seyruun, Lina and Gourry find wanted posters of them put up all around the city. Bounty Hunters show up, trying to catch them and Amelia joins them. After being caught, Lina and Gourry meet Zangulus and Vrumugun, the two who had put the price on their head. They manage to escape and fight Zangulus and Vrumugun before setting off for Sairaag, the place where the bounty hunters were going to take them. Amelia joins them, since in the fight with Lina and Vrumugun, she destroyed a tower.
On their way to Sairaag, Lina, Gourry and Amelia fight bandits as well as bounty hunters. Eventually, after several rather strange encounters, they make it to Sairaag, where they meet a friend of Gourry's. Sylphiel, Gourry's friend, takes them all to her house, where her father explains what's gone on and how a girl named Eris put a price on their head. The group then finds out that she used to work for Rezo. They end up fighting, and Zelgadis shows up again to help. Eris tells them that Zelgadis used to work for Rezo as well, but everyone is shocked to see Rezo step out of the shadows.
They begin to fight Rezo again, but everything stops when Sylphiel shows back up, casting a protection spell over them. They run away and try to figure out if this Rezo is the real Rezo or not. After some experimenting gone wrong in the Sorcerer's guild, they run into Rezo and the others again. Rezo uses a powerful spell, which destroys most of the city as Lina, Gourry, Zelgadis, Amelia and Sylphiel float above, protected by several barriers.
After the fight, Lina and the others go off in search of Rezo's lab in the old Ruins of Sairaag, only to run into more trouble. After getting into Rezo's lab, they end up getting split apart and eventually they all get back together in order fight Eris who wants to use Rezo's 'legacy' to summon the demon that destroyed Old Sairaag many years ago. The Rezo, who was revealed to be a copy, kills Eris and uses the power of the demon in order to beat up Lina's friends so that she would use the Giga Slave. As she is about to use the spell, Sylphiel stops her, saying that the Giga Slave could destroy the world. This angers the Copy Rezo, who uses the same spell that killed Eris on Sylphiel, only to have Lina jump in the way.
Sylphiel takes Lina and runs, taking her to a secret place where she performs healing magic and gives Lina a sacred artifact, a blessed sword that could be used to defeat Rezo, who was destroying the Holy Tree of Sairaag, Flagoon, which had sealed the demon beast who's powers he now had. After a tough fight, Lina manages to pin Rezo to the tree, while Sylphiel casts a healing spell on Flagoon, which drains the power of the demon beast. Rezo dies and as a final wish, asks to be buried under Flagoon.
With the fight over, Lina, Gourry, Amelia, and Zelgadis part ways, leaving Sylphiel in Sairaag as they head off to travel again. Lina and Gourry head off to Xoana, where they go to look at the book of Xoana. There they meet up with Amelia and Zelgadis again, who had been in Xoana for different reasons. They all join back up again, going in search of the Clair bible. During their search, they meet Xelloss, a priest who turns out to be a monster himself. He ends up following them around as they travel in search of the Clair Bible. As they travel, they find out about Prince Phil's death, which was faked in order to find out who wanted to take over Seyruun. It turns out that it was started by two monsters who were working for Amelia's cousin.
They betray Amelia's cousin and try to get Lina to work with them and their master, the Demon Dragon King Gaav. Refusing their offer, Lina gets her powers sealed. As she searches for a way to get them back, she learns another spell, the Ragna Blade, which can cut through astral planes. After getting her powers back, Lina and the others continue to travel in search of the Clare Bible.
After learning where there is a copy of the Clair Bible, Lina and the others go to a temple not far from the town they are staying in. After finding the copy, Lina learns of the nature of the Giga Slave. While at the temple, they are attacked by Gaav and are saved by Xellos who finally reveals his nature to Lina and the others. Eventually, with the help of the spirit of the Water Dragon King, they all make it away from Gaav and set out towards the Katahto Mountains, where the real Clair Bible is located.
Once in the Katahto Mountains, a Golden Dragon leads Lina to the true Clair Bible where she learns about Gaav and what he had done. Meanwhile, Gaav has shown up and Gourry, Xelloss, Amelia and Zelgadis get beaten up trying to fight him. However, after using the Ragna Blade, manages to defeat Gaav, but not for long. He returns as a young village boy reveals his true nature as Hellmaster Phibrizzo. Phibrizzo destroys Gaav and kidnaps Gourry, taking him and forcing Lina and the others to go to Sairaag again.
On their way back to Sairaag, they end up fighting Gourry again, who was being controlled by Phibrizzo. They also meet up with Sylphiel again, who had managed to learn the Dragon Slave, but no other attack spells. When they arrive back in Sairaag, they find that the city had been rebuilt and the people were alive again. They find out from Sylphiel's father that it was done by Phibrizzo and they go to the temple in the center of the city in order to fight. They manage to make it inside the temple and to Phibrizzo.
They try to fight him, but find out that they are no match. In order to get Lina to use the Giga Slave, Phibrizzo proceeds to slowly kill off Lina's friends one by one. Lina eventually casts the spell and loses control, only to be possessed by the Lord of Nightmares. The Lord of Nightmares kills Phibrizzo, releasing the townspeople from the spell cast by the Hellmaster. Eventually, with the help of Gourry, Lina was able to regain control of herself.
